A webinar for INSPIRE 2021 delegates: Jo Gilbert from RSM Australia will take you through using Xero and Figured to plan ahead in your farm business

RSM Australia and Rural Edge have a long history of working together to deliver business skills outcomes to farmers across WA, including delivery of the Farm Finance for Performance workshops and again sponsoring the INSPIRE Summit in 2021.

RSM Australia are working with Rural Edge to deliver this webinar on using Xero and Figured in your Farm Business to Plan for the Future. Many of you prepare a cashbook to do the BAS and tax and a budget to keep the bank manager happy! However, farm businesses are becoming increasingly complex, and there is a greater need to plan ahead – not only for debt management but also the impacts of legislative measures such as the Instant Asset Write Off.

Jo Gilbert is a Director in the Business Advisory division at RSM in Albany and has a strong background in business services and commercial accounting. Jo’s family continue to farm the property in Katanning where she was raised and this connection to a farming business has seen Jo develop an interest in farming technology, updated farming practices as well as assisting farming families with succession planning and related business advisory services.

Jo will use her extensive knowledge and passion for farm businesses to cover:

  • Converting historical data and cashbook records to Xero
  • Bank feeds and payroll
  • Using Figured to prepare a budget
  • How Xero interacts with Figured
  • Budgeting and Scenario planning for the longer term
  • Statement of Position and Production Margins for cropping and livestock in Figured

The session will then be opened up for questions.
