MEDIA RELEASE
An update from Lucy Hall, Chair – Rural Edge
Since 2014 and based on feedback from more than 2400 participants, Rural Edge has been delivering workshops that are highly valued peer to peer learning opportunities driven by farmers for farmers. In order to ensure that we continue to develop and deliver responsive and quality professional development programs, plus ensure the future sustainability of Rural Edge, the Board has made the decision to raise the price of our online and face-to-face workshops.
From 1 July 2021 Rural Edge workshops (online and face-to-face) will cost $495 (plus GST) for the initial person from a farm business, and $250 (plus GST) per person for additional members of the same business. We have chosen to keep the fee the same for both delivery formats given that the cost of developing the content and the facilitators time is the same.
This is not the only change you can expect from Rural Edge…
In the coming months, several exciting new projects will finally come to fruition. We have been working hard behind the scenes to develop two new workshops covering topics communicated by farmers as priorities in their businesses: Succession Planning and AgTech.
Succession Planning has been identified as one of the biggest risks farm businesses face today, and this workshop will build on and add to our very popular “Farm Finance for Performance” workshop.
AgTech will be an advanced version of the popular Paperless Farm Office workshop and will focus on supporting farmers to develop sustainable farm technology plans and practices.
Both workshops will be launched nationally which is a very exciting development for Rural Edge.
The Rural Edge team has also been working on a project that will revolutionize how we interact with you, manage the customer service experience and support your professional development journey with us. We can’t say too much at this stage, but stay tuned for more on this soon…
The Rural Edge Board appreciates your support and be assured, we will continue to deliver high quality learning and professional development opportunities to enable and support farm businesses to be innovative, competitive and profitable.
Best wishes for the 2021 growing season!
